10 Years Under
Today marks 10 years since I worked my very first shift as a Station Supervisor, after spending 14 years in the Station Control Room and a few short months on the gate line before that.
So this new picture feels like a fitting tribute to 25 years of life on the Underground. A quarter of a century of early starts, late finishes, service updates, station chaos, tea-powered survival, and enough stories to fill several lost property offices.
The month of May itself will mostly be spent in the chaotic wonderland known locally as Dagenham Thiefway, where fare evasion seems to rank as the area’s number one participation sport.
Still here. Still standing. Still wearing orange.
